User Fees: Non-NSF Research Projects
The NEES Equipment Site at the University of Nevada, Reno is a biaxial, multiple-shake-table facility (with three identical biaxial shake-tables) that is suitable for conducting research on long, spatially distributed, structural and geotechnical systems. The facility is also capable of testing conventional structural and non-structural systems by using the tables in large-table-mode, and operating them as a single unit. The University of Nevada, Reno - NEES Shake-Table Equipment site is funded in part by the George E. Brown, Jr. Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (NEES) Program of the National Science Foundation under Award Number CMS-0086624.
Current User Fees for the UNR - NEES Shake-Table Equipment Site are listed in the table below. These daily rates are 'all-inclusive' rates and include instrumentation, data acquisition and related services. They do not, however, include university overhead, which is currently charged at 45% of modified total direct costs. These rates are subject to change and potential users should check with the Laboratory Director for the most recent scale of fees. Note that these fees do not apply to researchers funded through the Engineering Directorate of the National Science Foundation. In such cases these fees are paid by the NEES Consortium on behalf of the researchers.
